ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE The invention relates to novel N-[1-(.omega.- phenylalkyl)-piperidyl-4]-N-(.alpha.-pyridyl)-carbonic acid amides and the acid addition salts thereof as well as to processes for their preparation. The novel compounds have a strong analgesic action, but possess no, or only very reduced, addictive properties. Processes for the production of the novel compounds are described and examples of certain of the novel compounds are given. Pharmaceutical compositions containing the novel compounds are described and exemplified.
