Abstract of the Disclosure The specification discloses N'-[4-(substituted phene- thyloxy)phenyl]-N-methyl-N-methoxyureas of the formula: Image wherein X1 is a hydrogen atom or a methyl group and X2 is a C1-C5 alkyl or a C1-C5 alkoxy group, which show a pronounced herbicidal activity against a wide variety of weeds in the cultivation of soybeans, peanuts, cotton, corn, wheat or rice plants without any material toxicity to mammals, fishes and said crop plants.
