N-Azidophenylsulfonyl-N'-pyrimidinyl- and -N'-triazinylureas Abstract The invention relates to N-azidophenylsulfonyl-N'-pyrimidinyl- and -N'-triazinylureas of the general formula Image wherein E is nitrogen or the methine bridge, R1 is hydrogen, halogen, nitro, C1-C4alkyl, C1-C4haloalkyl, C1-C4alk- oxy, C1-C4haloalkoxy, C1-C4alkoxycarbonyl, C1-C4alkylthio, C1-C4alkylsulfinyl, C1-C4alkylsulfonyl or C2-C5alkoxyalkoxy, R2 is C1-C3alkyl, C1-C3alkoxy or C1-C3haloalkoxy, R3 is hydrogen, halogen, C1-C3alkyl, C1-C3haloalkyl, C1-C3alkoxy, C1-C3haloalkoxy, C2-C5alkoxyalkoxy or -NR4R5, wherein R4 is hydrogen or methyl and R5 is hydrogen, methyl, ethyl or methoxy and to the salts thereof with amines, alkali metal hydroxides and alk- aline earth metal hydroxides or with quaternary ammonium bases. These compounds have good pre- and postemergence selective herbicidal and growth regulating properties.
