ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE N-benzoyl N'-pyridyloxy phenyl ureas having the formula Image (I) wherein X1 represents a hydrogen or halogen atom or methyl, trifluoromethyl or nitro group; X2 represents a hydrogen or halogen atom; X3, X4, X5 and X6 respectively represent a hydrogen or halogen atom or a C1 - C4 alkyl group, a C1 - C4 alkoxy group, a C1 - C4 alkylcarbonyl group, a C1 - C4 alkoxycarbonyl group or nitro group; when X3 and X6 are both hydrogen atoms, at least one of X4 and X5 is a C1 - C4 alkyl group, a C1 - C4 alkoxy group, a C1 - C4 alkyl- carbonyl group, a C1 - C4 alkoxycarbonyl group; and X7 represents a hydrogen or halogen atom; and Y represents oxygen or sulfur atom are useful as insecticides.
