Abstract The N-methyl-D-glucamine salt of (+)-2-(2-fluoro- 4-biphenylyl)propionic acid, which is a novel compound with analgesic, anti-inflammatory and antipyretic properties and which is useful for treating inflammatory conditions including rheumatic disorders and as an analgesic. Pharmaceutical compositions containing the novel salt are also described. Also described are methods for preparing the novel salt by direct salification in an aqueous or non-aqueous medium, for example isopropanol, aqueous tetrahydrofuran, bis(methoxyethyl) ether and 4-methyl-1,3-dioxolan-2-one. Isopropanol is especially preferred.
