ABSTRACT "N-PHENYLPYRAZOLE DERIVATIVES USEFUL AS HERBICIDES" Acylamino-N-phenylpyrazole derivatives of the general formula:- Image [wherein R1 represents R8C(=O)- (wherein R8 represents H, C1-7alkyl or C1-4alkoxy optionally substituted by C1-4alkoxy, C2-5alkoxycarbonyl or halogen, C3-4alkenyloxy, C3-6cycloalkyl optionally substituted by CH3 or C2H5, or phenoxy, R2 represents H or R8C(=O)-, or R1 and R2 together represent -CO-(CRaRb)m-CO-, R3 represents F, Cl, Br, C1-4alkyl optionally substituted by halogen, or C2-4alkenyl, R4 represents F, Cl, Br, NO2, CH3 or C2H5 and R5, R6 and R7 represent H, F, Cl, Br, NO2, CH3 or C2H5 or R4 and R5 each represent Cl and R3, R6 and R7 each represent H, Ra and Rb represent H or C1-4alkyl and m is 2 or 3] possess useful herbicidal properties; herbicidal compositions, methods for controlling the growth of weeds and processes for the preparation of the acylamino- N-phenylpyrazole derivatives are described.
