Abstract of the Disclosure The invention provides an N-substituted imidazole compound of the formula: Image wherein R and R' are independently a phenyl group optionally substituted with halogen, C1-C8 alkyl, C1-C8 alkoxy, C alkylthio, phenyl, phenoxy, phenylthio, hydroxyl, trifluoro- methyl, amino, carbamoyl, di(C1-C8)alkylamino, C1-C8 alkanoylamino, nitro, cyano, carboxy, C1-C8 alkoxycarbonyl, C1-C8 alkylsulfonyloxy and/or C1-C8 alkanoylpiperazino, a C1-C15 alkyl group or a phenyl(C1-C2)alkyl group optionally bearing halogen on the benzene ring, and its acid-addition salts. These compounds are useful as antifungal agents.
