The present invention relates to compounds of the formula (See Fig. I) or (See Fig. II) where R1, R2 and R3 are independently selected from alkoxy radicals having from 1 to 8 carbon atoms, x is O or an integer of from 1 to 10; and Y is Li, K or Na. These compounds may be used as silica couplers in rubber compositions.
