ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A nailing tool in the form of a hammer is proposed to enable a number of nails to be knocked successively into workpieces (37) by single-handed operation. The tool comprises a cavity forming the nail magazine (11), followed by a passage (13) leading to a deflector means (14) which feeds one nail (N1) at a time to the hammer head (20). At the hammer head the nail (N1) is held by a magnet 21 before being inserted into the workpiece (37). To ensure that only one nail reaches the deflector (14) at any time, the passage (13) contains a nail retainer (30) which passes only one nail at a time when actuated manually.
