The present invention describes a napkin tie for holding a dinner napkin in a prearranged position. The napkin tie comprises an elongated bendable tie which may be placed around a dinner napkin and the ends of the tie being looped over one another or tied together. Preferably, the napkin tie is provided as a bendable string material having beads strung along the length thereof with enlarged decorative retaining beads at the ends of the string material.
