ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A reticulate primary electric conductor, usually a cathode, is disclosed, as well as a method for making same, and a method for utilizing it in an electrochemical cell. The cathode is openly porous and can be in substantial physical contact with a separator employed in the cell for separating the anode and the cathode compartments within the cell. The conductor may be intermetallically bound to a current feeder. Such combination can be prepared directly in an electrode compartment, or outside the cell, and provides for negligible electrical resistance between the electrode and current feeder.
