The present invention pertains to an ethylene interpolymer composition characterized as having a narrow molecular weight distribution (MWD) and optimized compositional uniformity, a process for making such a composition and a fabricated article made from such composition. The novel composition is characterized as having at least two polymer components, the first component having an ATREF peak temperature, T peak1 and a viscosity average molecular weight, M v1, and the second component having an ATREF peak temperature, T peak2, and a viscosity average molecular, M v2, wherein the temperature differential between T peak2 and T peak1 decreases with increased composition density and M v1/M v2 is less than or equal to 1.2. The novel composition is further characterized as having a M w/M n of less than or equal to 3.3 as determined by gel permeation chromatography, an I10/I2 6.6, and a composition density less than 0.945 gram/cubic centimeter. The novel composition exhibits high, balanced toughness properties, good processibility and surprisingly improved optical properties and is particularly well-suited for use in applications such as lamination films trash can liners and heavy duty shipping bags, especially as a blown film.
La présente invention concerne une composition d'interpolymères d'éthylène caractérisée en ce qu'elle présente une répartition de poids moléculaire étroite (MWD) et une uniformité de composition optimisée, un procédé de fabrication de cette composition et un article fabriqué à partir de cette composition. La nouvelle composition est caractérisée en ce qu'elle possède au moins deux composants polymères, le premier composant présentant une température de pointe ATREF Tpeak1 et un poids moléculaire moyen de viscosité Mv1 et un second composant présentant une température de pointe ATREF Tpeak2 et un poids moléculaire moyen de viscosité Mv2, la température différentielle entre Tpeak1 et Tpeak2 baissant avec l'augmentation de la densité de la composition et le rapport Mv1/ Mv2 étant inférieur ou égal à 1,2. La nouvelle composition est, en outre, caractérisée en ce qu'elle possède un rapport Mw/Mn inférieur ou égal à 3,3 déterminé par chromatographie de perméation sur gel, un rapport I10/I2 6,6, et une densité de composition inférieure à 0,945 g/cm<3>. La nouvelle composition présente des propriétés de ténacité élevées, des propriétés optiques étonnamment améliorées et une grande facilité de mise en oeuvre. Cette composition est particulièrement bien adaptée pour des applications telles que des sacs poubelle de type film stratifié et des sacs de transport pour gros travaux de type film soufflé.
