Disclosed are apparatus and methodology subject matters for providing a Native Network Interface within an Advanced Metering System (AMS). The Native Network Interface provides the ability to plug in different low level network transport layers into a metering system to provide access to the physical network protocol from a C12.22 protocol stack in C12.22 Host applications. The design includes a base class having selected capabilities that may be reused in development of a transport layer for providing reliable message transport between communications system coupled components in an Advanced Metering System.

L'invention concerne un appareil et une méthodologie pour fournir une interface de réseau natif dans un Système de Mesure Avancé (AMS). L'interface de réseau natif permet de brancher différentes couches de transport réseau bas niveau à un système de mesure pour fournir un accès au protocole de réseau physique à partir d'une pile de protocole C12.22 dans des applications hôtes C12.22. La conception comprend une classe de base ayant des capacités sélectionnées qui peuvent être réutilisées dans le développement d'une couche de transport pour fournir un transport de message fiable entre des composants couplés d'un système de communication dans un Système de Mesure Avancé.
