A virtual reality shopping system that supports shopping over communications networks such as the Internet is provided. The shopping system has a server for providing interactive three-dimensional content to a client. The three- dimensional content may represent the interior of a virtual store or shopping mall. The user at the client may navigate through the three-dimensional content in real time. The user may click and drag three-dimensional items of interest into a shopping cart. A map may be provided that shows the layout of the interior of the virtual store. Department options may be provided that automatically take the user to the appropriate department of the store. Product category options may be provided that allow the user to locate products in various categories. A search option may be used to search for desired products. A product details region may be used to provide additional information on selected products. A clip of moving images of a product may be provided when the user clicks on a product in the three-dimensional view. The clip may be presented in the form of a rotating and zooming image of the product.
La présente invention concerne un système d'achats en réalité virtuelle compatible permettant de faire des achats via un réseau de communications tel que l'Internet. Ce système d'achats comporte un serveur fournissant à un client un contenu tridimensionnel interactif. Ce contenu peut représenter l'intérieur d'un magasin ou d'un centre commercial virtuel. L'utilisateur au client peut naviguer en temps réel dans le contenu tridimensionnel. Le client peut cliquer sur un article tridimensionnel l'intéressant et l'amener ou le faire glisser dans le chariot d'achats. Il est possible d'avoir un plan montrant la disposition de l'intérieur du magasin virtuel. On peut disposer d'une option de catégorie de produits permettant à l'utilisateur de localiser les produits dans diverses catégories. On peut disposer d'options de recherche permettant de rechercher des produits désirés. Une région des détails de produits peut être utilisée pour fournir de l'information complémentaire sur des produits sélectionnés. On peut disposer d'un petit film de présentation en images animées se rapportant à un produit lorsque l'utilisateur clique sur un produit dans la vue tridimensionnelle. Ce film peut se présenter sous la forme d'une image en rotation et en zoom du produit.
