A navigation apparatus (200) comprises a wireless communications unit (228) for data communication via a wire-less communications network (280) supported by identifiable base stations (282, 286, 290). The apparatus (200) also comprises a processing resource (202) arranged to support, when in use, an operational environment (262), the operational environment (262) supporting a location determination module (268) arranged to receive at a current location at least identities of a number of the identifiable base stations (282, 268, 290) receivable from the wireless communications unit (228). The location determination module (268) is capable of accessing a data store (214, 160) comprising a plurality of data association entries. Each data associa-tion entry comprises a stored number of identities of the identifiable base stations and a location identifier associated with a loca-tion where the stored number of identities is receivable. The location determination module (268) is also arranged to determine from the plurality of data association entries the current location associated with the stored number of identities.
L'invention concerne un appareil de navigation (200) comprenant une unité de communication sans fil (228) pour la communication de données par l'intermédiaire d'un réseau de communication sans fil (280) pris en charge par des stations de base identifiables (282, 286, 290).
