An NDIR instrument used for measuring the carbon dioxide content of a gas sample includes an electrically modulated incandescent lamp (28) disposed at one end of a sample cell (22) for containing the gas to be analyzed, and a first pyroelectric detector (32) at the other end of the cell. The instrument (10) correctly determines the concentration of carbon dioxide despite "leakage" of the broad-band infrared radiation emitted by the lamp through the sample to be analyzed. The temperature of the first pyroelectric detector may be regulated. The intensity of the radiation emitted by the lamp may be controlled by a feedback loop.

L'invention concerne un instrument à infrarouge non dispersif (NDIR) utilisé pour mesurer la teneur d'un échantillon gazeux en dioxyde de carbone, comportant une lampe à incandescence (28) à modulation électrique placée à une extrémité d'un cellule à échantillons (22) destinée à contenir le gaz à analyser, et un premier détecteur pyroélectrique (32) placé à l'autre extrémité de cette cellule. L'instrument (10) permet de déterminer correctement la concentration de dioxyde de carbone malgré des fuites du rayonnement infrarouge à large bande émis par la lampe à travers l'échantillon à analyser. On peut réguler la température du premier détecteur pyroélectrique. On peut réguler l'intensité du rayonnement émis par la lampe avec une boucle de rétroaction.
