The present invention relates to a method for producing a homozygous non-human organism from a heterozygous non-human organism, which homozygous organism can be crossed to obtain a hybrid, comprising providing a heterozygous starting organism; allowing the organism to produce SDR-O cells through meiosis, which cells originate from second division restitution; regenerating SDR-O organisms from the SDR-O cells; and producing the homozygous organism from the SDR-O organisms thus obtained. The invention further relates to a method for producing a hybrid, comprising crossing a first homozygous organism that is produced according to the above method with a second homozygous organism. Furthermore, the invention provides homozygous non-human organism and hybrid non-human organisms obtainable by these methods. The invention relates in particular to plants.

L'invention concerne un procédé permettant de produire un organisme homozygote non humain à partir d'un organisme hétérozygote non humain, cet organisme homozygote pouvant être croisé pour produire un hybride. Ce procédé consiste à prendre un organisme de départ hétérozygote, à permettre à cet organisme de produire des cellules SDR-O par méïose, ces cellules étant issues de la seconde division, à régénérer des organismes SDR-O à partir de ces cellules SDR-O, et à produire un organisme homozygote à partir des organismes SDR-O ainsi obtenus. L'invention concerne en outre un procédé permettant de produire un hybride, consistant à croiser un premier organisme homozygote qui est produit selon le procédé décrit ci-dessus, avec un second organisme homozygote. L'invention porte en outre sur des organismes homozygotes non humains et sur des organismes hybrides non humains pouvant être obtenus par ces procédés. Cette invention se rapporte en particulier aux plantes.
