In a neck protector used in Ice Hockey, this piece of equipment is made of rough nylon material which is designed to protect the neck area of the player against skate blades, blistering shots and cuts caused by hockey sticks. Sad to say, but the different types of neck protectors sold today offer very little in the way of protection against the real dangers faced by minor league and recreational adult hockey players. In this invention, the neck protector comes equipped with a rigid plastic device shaped in a half circle designed to protect the Adam 's apple area (thyroid cartilage) and continuing on each side to protect the carotid arteries from the real danger of modern hockey.
