A necktie with a knot-forming core is disclosed, which is composed of a necktie-body made of cloth and a knot-forming core made of synthetic resin. The necktie body comprises (1) a necktie panel having a combining hole at its top, (2) a knot-cloth being sewed to the knot-forming position of the necktie panel and having a pair of combining holes at its two lower corners, (3) and a pair of necktie-arms being sewed to the respective upper corners of the knot-cloth and being used for jointing the necktie to shirts or blouses. The knot-forming core comprises (1) a core-body and (2) a combining projection provided on the back of the core-body. A Y-shaped necktie having a desired size and shape is assembled merely by placing the core on the back of the knot-forming position of the necktie-body, and thereafter fitting orderly the above-mentioned three combining holes around the combining projection of the core. The merit of this invention is that the Y-shaped necktie thus assembled is maintainable, disassemblable, and re-assemblable. And the so made Y-shaped necktie is to be put on or taken off simply by applying such jointing means as (1) a jointing tool like a Velcro (trademark) - tape, hook, press studs, or magnets, attached both at the necktie-arms and the shirt, (2) a band detachably connected to one of the necktie-arms and which applies the above mentioned jointing tools both at its other end and the counterpart necktie- arm, (3) a string movably penetrating through the core, and whose length is adjustable simply by pressing or releasing the projection on the back of the core.
