ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE: A method for preparing needle-like electrically conductive zinc oxide comprising neutralizing with an inorganic acid, a solution with a solution containing an alkali zincate compound and a water-soluble compound of at least one metal selected from the group consisting of tin, gallium, indium and aluminum compounds so as to have a composition after calcination comprising 0.005 to 5 parts by weight of at least one. member selected from the group consisting of tin oxide, gallium oxide, indium oxide and aluminum oxide as a dopant to 100 parts by weight of zinc oxide, filtering coprecipitates obtained during the neutralization, washing and drying the co-precipitates and then calcining the co-precipitates in a reducing atmosphere. And a powder obtained by such method.
