ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A needle-pierceable cartridge for drug delivery comprises a housing containing a drug-containing bag having walls of hydrophilic material capable of diffusing water across the walls, whereby osmosis can take place. The bag walls also define macroscopic holes, so that water on the outside of the bag diffuses by osmosis into the bag, and osmotic pressure forces water containing dissolved drug out of the bag through the macroscopic holes for removal and use.
