This invention is a needle retraction device (27) for removing a needle from a patient. The needle retraction device comprises a housing (28) having an exterior wall which defines an interior compartment (30). A slidable member (36) having a pair of spaced apart movable legs (38) separated from one another by an elongate slot (39), is located within the interior compartment. The pair of spaced apart movable legs are also spaced from a remainder of the slidable member by a cavity or area which is sized to receive a needle therein. The slidable member is movable from a first position in which the pair of spaced apart movable legs are located outside of the interior compartment of the needle retraction device for receiving a needle, and a second retracted position in which the pair of spaced apart movable legs along with a supported needle are completely retracted inside the interior compartment of the housing to prevent an inadvertent needle stick.
L'invention concerne un dispositif (27) servant à retirer une aiguille hors du corps d'un patient. Ce dispositif est composé d'un boîtier (28) pourvu d'une paroi extérieure définissant un compartiment intérieur (30). Un élément coulissant (36) possédant une paire de montants mobiles (38) séparés l'un de l'autre par une fente allongée (39), est placé dans le compartiment intérieur. La paire de montants mobiles éloignés l'un de l'autre est également éloignée du reste de l'élément coulissant par une cavité ou par une zone dimensionnées de façon à recevoir une aiguille. Cet élément coulissant peut être déplacé depuis une première position dans laquelle la paire de montants mobiles est située à l'extérieur du compartiment intérieur du dispositif, afin de recevoir une aiguille, et une deuxième position retirée dans laquelle la paire de montants mobiles, ainsi qu'une aiguille qu'ils supportent, sont totalement retirées dans le compartiment intérieur du boîtier, de manière à empêcher une piqûre d'aiguille accidentelle.
