A neovascularization inhibitor containing as the active ingredient N-(3,4- dimethoxycinnamoyl)anthranilic acid represented by chemical formula (I) or pharmacologically acceptable salts thereof, which has the activities of depressing the growth and migration of human capillary endothelial cells and the activity of inhibiting the canalization of the same, thus being useful as preventives and remedies for diseases caused by neovascularization, such as diabetic retinopathy, senile discoid macular degeneration, neovascular glaucoma, and rheumatic arthritis.

Cet inhibiteur de la néoformation de vaisseaux sanguins contient en tant que principe actif l'acide N-(3,4-diméthoxycinnamoyl)anthranilique, représenté par la formule générale chimique (I), ou l'un des sels de cet acide, acceptable sur le plan pharmacologique. Ce principe actif agit pour réduire la croissance et la migration de cellules endothéliales capillaires humaines et pour inhiber la canalisation de celles-ci, et il est, par conséquent, utile pour prévenir et soigner des maladies provoquées par la néoformation de vaisseaux sanguins, telles que la rétinopathie diabétique, la dégénérescence maculaire discoïde sénile, le glaucome par néoformation de vaisseaux sanguins et la polyarthrite rhumatoïde.
