Hair follicle stem cells are isolated from mammals by isolating nestin- expressing cells. These hair follicle stem cells are a source of adult stem cells for autologous or heterologous stem cell therapy. The stem cells can be systemically implanted into the mammal or directly implanted into the organ. In addition, the stem cells may be further differentiated in vitro and then implanted systemically or directly into the mammal.

L'invention porte sur des cellules souches de follicules pileux isolées chez des mammifères en isolant des cellules exprimant la nestine. Lesdites cellules souches représentent une source de cellules souches adultes utilisables pour des traitements à base de cellules autologues or hétérologues pouvant être implantées systémiquement dans un mammifère ou directement dans un organe. Lesdites cellules souches peuvent par ailleurs subir une différenciation in vitro avant d'être implantées systémiquement ou directement dans le mammifère.
