Network adapter (1) for connecting an in-house network (2) to subscriber-line networks (3) of service providers, comprising a first external interface (4) for receiving information signals via coaxial cables from subscriber-line networks and at least one internal interface (5) for transmitting the information signals to terminals of an in-house network (2; 22) via coaxial cables (6), characterized in that there are provided additional external interfaces (4', 4", 4''', ...) for interactively exchanging information signals with additional subscriber-line networks, wherein at least one external interface (4') establishes a connection to a subscriber-line network using bell wire, and that there is provided a combined exchange and control unit (8), preferably with a microprocessor (9; 29), which transmits the respective information signals of a predetermined service provider from the respective external interface (4, 4', 4", 4''', ...) of the subscriber-line network to one or more internal interfaces (5, 5', 5") of the in-house network (2; 22) or vice versa. Information signals can thus be distributed to terminals in an in-house network as well as in the reverse direction, even with a large number of potentially rather diverse service providers. Most of the already existing network hardware can be utilized without the need for extensive changes and additions.

L'invention est un adaptateur de réseau (1) servant à connecter un réseau local (2) à des réseaux de lignes d'abonné (3) de fournisseurs de services. L'adaptateur de l'invention comprend une première interface externe (4) servant à recevoir des signaux d'information de réseaux de lignes d'abonné via des câbles coaxiaux et au moins une interface interne (5) servant à transmettre ces signaux d'information aux terminaux d'un réseau local (2; 22) via des câbles coaxiaux (6), des interfaces externes additionnelles (4', 4", 4''', ...) étant adjointes à ces interfaces pour échanger interactivement des signaux d'information avec d'autres réseaux de lignes d'abonné, l'une au moins de ces interfaces externes (4') établissant une connexion avec un réseau de lignes d'abonné au moyen d'un fil de sonnerie. L'adaptateur comprend également une unité de commutation et de contrôle (8) comportant un microprocesseur (9, 29) dans la concrétisation privilégiée de l'invention, qui transmet les divers signaux d'information d'un fournisseur de services prédéterminé des interfaces externes correspondantes (4, 4', 4", 4''', ...) du réseau de lignes d'abonné à une ou à plusieurs des interfaces internes (5, 5', 5") du réseau local (2; 22) ou vice versa. Les signaux d'information peuvent donc être distribués aux terminaux d'un réseau local et être transmis en sens opposé, même avec un grand nombre de fournisseurs de services potentiellement très différents. La plus grande partie du matériel en place dans le réseau peut être utilisée sans modifications ou additions importantes.
