A communications system is provided in which a calling party can retrieve directory information for placing multimedia calls from a World Wide Web server. The calling party selects the parties to be called by highlighting selected parties on displayed Web pages of directory information. The calling party can initiate a point-to-point multimedia call or a multiple party multimedia conference using the highlighted directory information.

Un système de communications permet à un appelant de récupérer de l'information de répertoire pour établir des appels multimédia à partir d'un serveur World Wide Web. L'appelant choisit les correspondants à appeler en mettant leur nom en évidence sur des pages Web affichées contenant de l'information d'annuaire.
