In a communication network, the network blocking probability can be efficiently calculated by applying a Gaussian approximation to a fixed point algorithm (410). Gaussian curves are approximated to represent state probability distributions of the network links (410). By efficiently calculating the network blocking probability (430), the network can be optimally designed by lowering the network blocking probability below a threshold at the least cost.

Dans un réseau de communications, il est possible de calculer de manière efficace la probabilité de blocage de réseau en appliquant une approximation gaussienne à un algorithme de calcul à virgule fixe (410). Des courbes gaussiennes sont approchées pour représenter des répartitions de probabilité d'état des liaisons du réseau (410). Il est possible, grâce à un calcul efficace de la probabilité de blocage de réseau, de concevoir ce dernier de la meilleure manière qui soit et au moindre coût, en abaissant cette probabilité en dessous d'un seuil donné.
