A method of operating a radio access network (24) facilitates prioritization of up link layer 3(L3) signaling. The method comprises making a prediction of transmission of an up link layer three (L3) message from a wireless terminal (30) to a node (28) of the radio access network. The method further comprises generating, for transmission on a down link from the node to the wireless terminal (30), an up link grant message (60) which, in accordance with the prediction, prioritizes a predicted L3 message of the wireless terminal (30) relative to messages of others of plural wireless terminals operating in the network. The method also comprises transmitting the up link grant message to the wireless terminal.
L'invention concerne un procédé d'exploitation d'un réseau d'accès radio (24) qui facilite la priorisation d'une signalisation de couche 3 (L3) de liaison montante. Le procédé comporte les étapes consistant à: prédire la transmission d'un message de couche trois (L3) de liaison montante, d'un terminal sans fil (30) vers un nud (28) du réseau d'accès radio; produire, en vue de sa transmission sur une liaison descendante, du nud vers le terminal sans fil (30), un message (60) d'autorisation de liaison montante qui, selon la prédiction, accorde la priorité au message L3 prédit du terminal sans fil (30) par rapport aux messages des autres terminaux sans fil du réseau; et transmettre le message d'autorisation de liaison montante au terminal sans fil.
