A low cost universal network interface device capable of accommodating various terminating devices. The network interface device generally including a base defining an interior cavity, and being further defined by a provider portion and a subscriber portion. The network interface device further including a protective outer cover having an integrated override feature operable for permitting access to the provider portion and the subscriber portion of the base in one step. The network interface device also includes an improved terminating device having a locking feature having a locking slide and a movable latch for preventing unauthorized access to the interior of the terminating device. The network interface device further comprises a sealing grommet having a wave like shape for sealingly enveloping provider or subscriber lines that are routed into the base, thereby preventing outside contaminants from entering.
L'invention concerne un dispositif à interface réseau universelle bon marché capable de comprendre divers dispositifs d'interconnexion. Le dispositif à interface réseau comprend en général une base définissant une cavité intérieure définie par une partie fournisseur et une partie abonné. Le dispositif à interface réseau comprend également un élément couvrant externe protecteur possédant une caractéristique chevauchante intégrée conçue pour permettre d'accéder à la partie fournisseur et à la partie abonné de la base en une étape. Le dispositif à interface réseau comprend également un dispositif d'interconnexion amélioré possédant une caractéristique de verrouillage présentant une lame de verrouillage et un verrou mobile permettant d'empêcher un accès non autorisé à l'intérieur du dispositif d'interconnexion. Le dispositif à interface réseau comprend également un oeillet d'étanchéification présentant une forme de type onde permettant d'envelopper de manière étanchéifiée les lignes fournisseur ou abonné qui sont acheminées dans la base, empêchant ainsi des contaminants externes d'entrer.
