The invention concerns a neuroprotective and retinoprotective medicine, whereof the active principle is selected among a group of compounds consisting of ramipril, ramiprilat or any other ramiprilat derivative capable of releasing it in the organism whereto it is administered. Said medicine is used for prevention, or even for improving visual acuity and visual field in normal subjects, as well as for treating ophthalmologic pathologies involving a vascular factor, in particular glaucomatous neuropathy, degenerative choriopathy of strong myopia, age-related maculopathy, serous central chorioretinopathy, hereditary dystrophy of the retina and retinal venous occlusions. It almost invariably improves the visual function (acuity and visual field).
L'invention concerne un médicament neuroprotecteur et rétinoprotecteur, dont le principe actif est choisi au sein d'un groupe de composés consistant en le ramipril, le ramiprilate ou tout autre dérivé du ramiprilate susceptible de le libérer dans l'organisme auquel il serait administré. Il est appliqué à la prévention, ou même l'amélioration de l'acuité visuelle et du champ visuel chez des sujets normaux, ainsi qu'au traitement de pathologies ophtalmiques mettant en jeu un facteur vasculaire, notamment de neuropathies glaucomateuses, de chorio-rétinopathies dégénératives du fort myope, des dégénérescences maculaires liées à l'âge, de chorio-rétinopathies séreuses centrales, de dystrophies héréditaires de la rétine et d'occlusions veineuses rétiniennes. Il entraîne pratiquement toujours une amélioration de la fonction visuelle (acuité et champ visuel).
