The present invention relates to peptide sequences capable of stimulating neuronal cell differentiation, neural cell survival and neuronal plasticity associated with memory and learning. The peptide sequences of the invention are derived from the proteins belonging to neurotrophic factors, such as NGF, NT3, NT4/5 and BDNF. The invention also relates to pharmaceutical compositions comprising said peptide fragments and uses thereof for treatment of a disease or condition wherein the effects of stimulating neuronal cell differentiation, neuronal cell survival, stimulating neural plasticity associated with learning and memory are beneficial for treatment.
La présente invention concerne des séquences peptidiques capables de stimuler la différenciation de cellules neuronales, la survie des cellules neurales et la plasticité neuronale associées à la mémoire et à l'apprentissage. Les séquences peptidiques de l'invention sont dérivées des protéines appartenant à des facteurs neurotrophiques tels que NGF, NT3, NT4/5 et BDNF. L'invention concerne également des compositions pharmaceutiques contenant lesdits fragments peptidiques et leurs utilisations pour le traitement de maladies ou d'états pour lesquels les effets de la stimulation de la différenciation des cellules neuronales, de la survie des cellules neurales et la stimulation de la plascticité neuronale associées à la mémoire et à l'apprentissage est bénéfique.
