-17- NEUTRALIZATION OF THE ANTICOAGULANT ACTIVITIES OF LOW MOLECULAR WEIGHT HEPARIN Abstract of the Disclosure A system comprising heparinase to degrade polydispersed low molecular weight heparin fractions and fragments (LMHF) both in vitro and in vivo. In vitro data show that both the APTT and anti-FXa activities of LMHF, including Kabi 2165, PK 10169, CY 216 and CY 222, are nearly completely eliminated by heparinase in less than 20 minutes, even when the LMHF are present at a level ten times greater than normally used clinically.
