A new and improved tier sheet comprises a three-layer laminated extrusion comprising outer layers of a suitable polypropylene homopolymer, and an inner core layer comprising a suitable polypropylene copolymer blended with a suitable elastomer selected from the group comprising SANTOPRENE~, KRATON~, ethyl vinyl acetate (EVA) , and a thermoplastic olefin (TPO) . By effectively incorporating the elastomer into the inner core layer of the three-layer laminated extrusion, the tier sheet is provided with the requisite amount of softness, elasticity, and resiliency so as to not only permit the multiplicity of cans to, in effect, form sufficiently deep impressions or depresssions within the upper and lower tier sheets as the different tiers or layers of tier sheets and cans are disposed upon the transportation pallet within the tiered array comprising the palletized load such that movement of the individual cans with respect to the upper and lower tier sheets will effectively be restricted and prevented but, in addition, the tier sheet can dimensionally recover whereby the depressions and impressions will effectively disappear so as to thereby enable each tier sheet to be readied for use with respect to supporting and restraining new or additional sets of cans in connection with the formation of subsequent palletized loads. Furthermore, the outer layers will not readily delaminate from the inner core layer, and still further, the extrusion process results in the fact that the edge portions of the three-layer laminate are effectively sealed such that the three-layer tier sheet laminate will not readily absorb moisture.
Nouvelle feuille intercalaire améliorée comportant un produit d'extrusion stratifié à trois couches comprenant des couches extérieures constituées d'un homopolymère approprié du polypropylène et une couche intérieure de cAEur comprenant un copolymère approprié du polypropylène mélangé à un élastomère approprié choisi dans le groupe comprenant le SANTOPRENE®, le KRATON®, l' éthyle vinyle acétate (EVA) et une oléfine thermoplastique (TPO). En incorporant en pratique l'élastomère dans la couche intérieure de cAEur du produit d'extrusion stratifié à trois couches, on confère à la feuille intercalaire le degré requis de malléabilité, d'élasticité et de souplesse pour permettre non seulement à la multiplicité de boîtes, en pratique, de former des empreintes ou des cuvettes suffisamment profondes dans les feuilles intercalaires supérieure et inférieure tandis que les différentes strates ou couches de feuilles intercalaires et de boîtes sont disposées sur la palette de transport dans l'empilement par strates constituant la charge palettisée de telle sorte que le mouvement des boîtes individuelles par rapport aux feuilles intercalaires supérieure et inférieure soit en pratique limité et empêché mais, de plus, la feuille intercalaire reprend ses dimensions, suite à quoi les cuvettes et les empreintes disparaissent en pratique, permettant ainsi à chaque feuille intercalaire d'être préparée pour être utilisée en vue de supporter et de retenir des ensembles nouveaux ou supplémentaires de boîtes en relation avec la formation de charges palettisées ultérieures. En outre, les couches extérieures ne se désolidarisent pas aisément de la couche intérieure de cAEur et, de plus, le procédé d'extrusion se traduit par le fait que les parties de bord du produit stratifié à trois couches sont en pratique scellées, de sorte que le produit stratifié à trois couches de la feuille intercalaire n'absorbe pas aisément l'humidité.
