A clathrate compound comprising a tetrakisphenol compound represented by general formula (I) as the host compound and a 2-alkyl-3(2H)-isothiazolone as the guest compound, wherein X represents (CH2)n; n represents 0, 1 or 2; and R1 to R8 represent each independently hydrogen, lower alkyl, halogeno, lower alkoxy or optionally substituted phenyl.
