A liquid crystal display device having a liquid crystal layer interposed between a pair of substrates, said substrates being coupled to each other through an insulative sealing material at the peripheral portions thereof, one of said pair of substrates being a transparent front substrate through which viewing of the display device occurs, and a graphite containing matrix coating on an inside surface of the front substrate, said coating having a matrix of apertures therein, said coating being applied by application of a composition comprising in weight percent, about 1% to about 30% colloidal graphite, about 0.1% to about 20% binder material for the coating, and about 10% to about 98% of a fluid carrier, said applied coating having a thickness of less than about 20 microns.
Dispositif d'affichage à cristaux liquides ayant une couche de cristaux liquides interposée entre deux supports qui sont raccordés l'un à l'autre par un matériau de scellement isolant posé sur leurs parties périphériques, l'un des deux supports étant un support à devant transparent à travers lequel on peut voir le dispositif d'affichage, et un revêtement matrice contenant du graphite sur une surface intérieure du support de devant, ledit revêtement ayant une matrice d'ouvertures et étant réalisé par application d'une composition contenant en pourcentage pondéral environ 1 % à environ 30 % de graphite colloïdal, environ 0,1 % à environ 20 % de liant pour le revêtement et environ 10 % à environ 98 % d'un porteur fluide, ledit revêtement appliqué ayant une épaisseur inférieure à environ 20 microns.
