The described invention relates to a method of treatment of a pulmonary inflammatory reaction brought about by e.g. bac- teraemia, physical trauma or viral infection, with activation of polymorphonuclear white blood cells, said method comprising continuous intravenous infusion of adenosine at a rate effective for such treatment, preferably 2 to 50 µg/ml/min, more prefer- ably 5-20 µg/kg/min in a central vein.
L'invention concerne un procédé de traitement d'une réaction inflammatoire pulmonaire provoquée, par exemple, par une bactériémie, un traumatisme physique ou une infection virale, par l'activation des leucocytes polynucléaires, ledit procédé comprenant la perfusion intraveineuse continue d'adénosine à une dose efficace pour ledit traitement, de préférence, 2 à 50 mug/ml/min, et plutôt 5-20 mug/kg/min dans une veine centrale.
