The invention concerns novel mutations or mutational profiles of HIV-1 protease cleavage sites (CS) in the Gag region correlated with a phenotype causing alterations in sensitivity to anti-HIV drugs. The present invention also relates to the use of genotypic characterization of a target population of HIV and the subsequent association, i.e. correlation, of this information to phenotypic interpretation in order to correlate virus mutational profiles with drug resistance. The invention further relates to methods of utilizing the mutational profiles of the invention in databases, drug development, i.e., drug design, and drug modification, therapy and treatment design and clinical management.
L'invention concerne de nouvelles mutations ou de nouveaux profils mutationnels de sites de clivage (CS) de protéase du VIH-1 dans la région Gag corrélés à un phénotype provoquant des altérations de la sensibilité aux médicaments anti-HIV. La présente invention porte également sur l'utilisation de la caractérisation génotypique d'une population cible d'individus atteints du HIV et sur l'association ultérieure, à savoir la corrélation, de ces informations à une interprétation phénotypique afin de corréler des profils mutationnels de virus avec une résistance aux médicaments. L'invention porte en outre sur des procédés d'utilisation des profils mutationnels de l'invention dans des bases de données, sur le développement du médicament, à savoir, la conception du médicament, et sur la modification du médicament, la conception de thérapie et de traitement et sur la gestion clinique.
