There is provided a process for the production of a N-Benzyl azetidine-2- carboxylic acid alkylphenyl, or alkyl, ester which process comprises the reaction of an optionally substituted alkylphenyl, or an optionally substituted alkyl, 2-bromo-4-chlorobutyrate with an optionally substituted benzylamine, which process may be used as part of an overall process for the production of azetidine-2-carboxylic acid.

L'invention concerne un procédé de production d'un ester alkylphényle ou alkyle d'acide azétidine-2-carboxylique N-benzyle, le procédé consistant à mettre en réaction un alkylphényle éventuellement substitué ou un alkyle éventuellement substitué, 2-bromo-4-chlorobutyrate avec une benzylamine éventuellement substituée, le procédé pouvant s'utiliser comme une partie d'un procédé global de production d'acide azétidine-2-carboxylique.
