An improved process for either the manufacturing of nitric acid, recycling nitric acid, or recovering of nitric acid, comprising the steps of: providing a source of NO x; reacting one mole NO from the source of NO x with one mole of HNO3 in the presence of NO2- to produce a resulting product; and reacting the resulting product with one mole of O2 and one mole of H2O to produce two moles of nitric acid.

L'invention concerne un procédé amélioré pour fabriquer, recycler ou récupérer de l'acide nitrique, comprenant les étapes consistant à: prévoir une source de NOx; faire réagir une mole de NO de la source de NOx avec une mole de HNO3 en présence de NO2<-> pour obtenir un produit de réaction; faire réagir le produit obtenu avec une mole de O2 et une mole de H2O pour produire deux moles d'acide nitrique.
