Lubricant compositions comprising (a) an oil of lubricating viscosity; and (b) at least one non-metal-containing additive, comprising a nitrogen-containing dispersant having a total base number of at least about 90 are useful for lubricating an internal combustion engine. The lubricants have less than 1.0% sulfated ash and a total base number of at least about 8.5, and at least 30% of the total base number of the composition is provided by non-metal-containing additives. The lubricants exhibit a high TBN without deterioration of elastomeric seals.
L'invention concerne des compositions lubrifiantes comprenant (a) une huile de viscosité lubrifiante ; et (b) au moins un additif ne contenant pas de métal, comprenant un dispersant contenant de l'azote présentant un degré d'alcalinité supérieur ou égal à 90, lesdites compositions étant utiles pour la lubrification d'un moteur à combustion interne. Les lubrifiants contiennent moins de 1,0 % de cendre sulfatée et ont un degré d'alcalinité supérieur ou égal à 8,5, au moins 30 % du degré d'alcalinité de la composition étant dû aux additifs ne contenant pas de métal. Les lubrifiants présentent un degré d'alcalinité élevé sans détérioration des agents d'étanchéité élastomériques.
