Abstract A dispersant composition comprising the reaction pro- duct of an ashless dispersant selected from the group con- sisting of (i) Mannich dispersants, (ii) succinimide dispersants, (iii) succinate ester-amide dispersants, and (iv) polymeric viscosity index improvers having amine dis- persant character, with an inorganic mineral acid selected from the group consisting of sulfuric, nitric and hydro- chloric acids.
