An expanded (102) and cooled (106) crude LNG stream (108) is separated in a nitrogen rejection column (150) into a nitrogen-enriched overhead vapor stream (130) and a nitrogen-diminished bottoms liquid stream (110). The bottoms stream (110) is pumped (112) to higher pressure, divided into first and second streams (114 & 116) and then the second stream is reduced in pressure and at least partially vaporized (118) by heat exchange (106) against the crude LNG feed stream (104) to cool said feed stream and provide (120) boilup to the nitrogen rejection column (150).

Selon l'invention, un courant de gaz naturel liquéfié brut (108), dilaté (102) et refroidi (106) est séparé dans une colonne (150) de rejet d'azote en un courant de vapeur de tête enrichi en azote (130) et un courant de liquide de résidu à teneur diminuée en azote (110). Le courant de résidu (110) est pompé (112) à une pression supérieure, divisé en des premier et second courants (114 & 116), puis le second courant est réduit en pression et au moins partiellement vaporisé (118) par échange de chaleur (106) contre le courant (104) d'alimentation en GNL brut pour refroidir ledit courant d'alimentation et obtenir (120) un état d'ébullition à la colonne de rejet d'azote (150).
