Methods, compounds and compositions are provided for inhibiting the growth of pathogenic microbes in vitro and of treatment of pathogenic bacterial infections, such as mycobacterial, Clostridium, Cryptosporidium and Helicobacter infections, in vivo using bicyclic nitroimidazole compounds of the formula (II): (see formula II) The methods, compounds and compositions are particularly useful for inhibiting the growth of Mycobacterium tuberculosis, Clostridium difficile, Cryptosporidium parvum, and Helicobacter pylori, and may be used alone, or in combination with other antimicrobial agents.
Cette invention concerne un procédé, des composés et des compositions qui permettent d'inhiber in vitro la croissance de microbes pathogènes et de traiter in vivo des infections bactériennes pathogènes, du type infections par Mycobactérium, Clostridium, Cryptosporidium et Hélicobacter, au moyen de composés bicycliques de nitro-imidazole. Ces procédés, composés et compositions s'avèrent particulièrement utiles pour inhiber la croissance de Mycobactérium tuberculosis, Clostridium difficile, Cryptosporidium parvum et Hélicobacter pylori, lesdites compositions pouvant être utilisées seules, ou en combinaison avec d'autres agents microbiens.
