ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE: The invention is concerned with novel nitroimidazolyl- vinylthiadiazoles having the general formula: Image (I) where R1 is alkyl of 1 to 4 carbon atoms, R2 is hydrogen or methyl, and R3 is hydrogen, alkyl of 1 to 6 carbon atoms, phenyl or pyridyl. These compounds are useful as chemotherapeutics in the treatment of microbial infections in humans and animals, especially of trichomoniasis, trypano- somiasis and amoebic dysentery.
