The present invention describes novel nitrosated and/or nitrosylated nonsteroidal antiinflammatory compounds, and novel compositions comprising at least one nitrosated and/or nitrosylated nonsteroidal antiinflammatory compound, and, optionally, at least one compound that donates, transfers or releases nitric oxide, elevates endogenous levels of endothelium-derived relaxing factor, stimulates endogenous synthesis of nitric oxide or is a substrate for nitric oxide synthase. The present invention also provides methods for treating, preventing and/or reducing inflammation, pain, and fever, decreasing or reversing the gastrointestinal, renal and other toxicities resulting from the use of nonsteroidal antiinflammatory drugs; treating and/or preventing gastrointestinal disorders; treating inflammatory disease states and disorders; and treating and/or preventing ophthalmic diseases or disorders.
L'invention concerne de nouveaux composés anti-inflammatoires non stéroïdiens nitrosés et/ou nitrosylés, et de nouvelles compositions comprenant au moins un composé anti-inflammatoire non stéroïdien nitrosé et/ou nitrosylé et, éventuellement, au moins un composé fournissant, transférant ou libérant de l'oxyde nitrique, élevant des niveaux endogènes du facteur relaxant dérivé de l'endothélium, simulant la synthèse endogène de l'oxyde nitrique, ou qui est un substrat de synthase d'oxyde nitrique. L'invention concerne également des procédés pour le traitement, la prévention et/ou la diminution de l'inflammation, de la douleur et de la fièvre, l'abaissement ou la réversion de la toxicité gastro-intestinale, rénale et autres toxicités résultant de l'utilisation de médicaments anti-inflammatoires non stéroïdiens, le traitement et/ou la prévention de troubles gastro-intestinaux, le traitement d'états d'affection et de troubles inflammatoires, ainsi que le traitement et/ou la prévention d'affections ou de troubles ophtalmiques.
