PRECIS DE LA DIVULGATION: L'invention concerne des dispersions aqueuses de butyral polyvinylique. Ces dispersions sont obtenues à tempéra- ture inférieure a 30°C et en présence d'acide phosphorique comme catalyseur de condensation avec pour la butyralisation un mélange de butanal et d'acide .alpha.-aldéhydique comme l'acide glyoxylique en proportion pondérale comprise de préférence entre 95/5 et 85/15. Elles conduisent à d'excellents revête- ments sur supports ferreux.
