A noble metal nanotube which has a skeleton comprising (1) a single noble metal element of gold (Au), silver (Ag), platinum (Pt), palladium (Pd), rhodium (Rh) or iridium (Ir), or (2) a mixture in an arbitrary ratio of two or more of the noble metal elements consisting of the above elements and ruthenium (Ru) or (3) a mixture in an arbitrary ratio of two or more of the metal elements consisting of the above noble metal elements and a base metal element, and has the form of a tube having an outer diameter of about 5 to 7 nm, an inner diameter of about 2 to 4 nm, a thickness of about 1 to 2 nm and a length of 10 nm or more; and a method for preparing the nanotube which comprises providing a mixture of a noble metal component and a molecular structure formed by admixing a nonionic or ionic surfactant having a hydrophilic moiety of a relatively small size with a nonionic surfactant having a hydrophilic moiety of a relatively large size, and subjecting the mixture to a reaction which reduces the noble metal component.

L'invention porte sur un nanotube en métal noble dont le squelette comprend (1) un élément unique de métal noble en or (Au), argent (Ag), platine (Pt), palladium (Pd), rhodium (Rh) ou irridium (Ir) ou (2) un mélange dans un rapport arbitraire d'au moins deux des éléments de métal noble constituant les éléments précités et le ruthénium (Ru) ou (3) un mélange dans un rapport arbitraire d'au moins deux des éléments de métal noble constituant les éléments de métal noble précités et un élément de métal de base. Le nanotube a la forme d'un tube ayant un diamètre externe compris entre environ 5 et 7 nm, un diamètre interne compris entre environ 2 et 4 nm, une épaisseur comprise entre environ 1 et 2 nm et une longueur de 10 nm ou plus. Le procédé de préparation du nanotube consiste à obtenir un mélange d'un composant de métal noble et une structure moléculaire en mélangeant un tensioactif non ionique ou ionique ayant une fraction hydrophile de taille relativement petite avec un tensioactif non ionique ayant une fraction hydrophile de taille relativement grande, et soumettre le mélange à une réaction qui réduit le composant de métal noble.
