ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE The present invention provides a switching network unit comprising a plurality of N identical elementary nodal switching networks having addresses comprised between 0 inclusive and (N-1) inclusive where N is smaller than or equal to fp, f and p being two predetermined integers, and internodal links connecting each elementary nodal switching network to 2p other elementary nodal switching networks, the elementary nodal switching networks having addresses i smaller than or equal to N-fk-1 being connected through internodal links to elementary nodal switching networks of addresses i + fk and the elementary nodal switching networks having addresses i greater than or equal to N-fk being connected through internodal links to elementary nodal switching networks of addresses i + 1 (modulo fk) where k is any integer including 0 and at most equal to (p-1).
