An active control system for attenuating tonal noise in a defined region is described. In its most basic form the system includes sensors (1, 8) for generating signals indicative of the residual noise in the region after attenuation and the uncontrolled sound affecting the region, signal processing circuits (10, 26) for processing the generated signals differently depending on the tonal content thereof, an adaptive filter (5) supplied with at least one of the generated signals whose characteristic is controlled by the processing circuitry (10), a transducer (6) for producing tonal-noise-attenuating disturbance in the region and delay means (4) for delaying signals relating to the uncontrolled noise before or after or during the adaptive filtering. The system finds direct application in a personal headset or ear defender.
Description d'un système actif de commande servant à atténuer le bruit de fond dans une zone du spectre sonore délimitée. Dans sa forme la plus élémentaire, il comprend des capteurs (1, 8) pour produire des signaux représentatifs du bruit résiduel dans la zone du spectre sonore après l'atténuation et du son incontrôlé dans la zone du spectre sonore, des unités de traitement des signaux (10, 26) pour traiter différemment les signaux produits selon leur contenu en bruit de fond, un filtre adaptatif (5) alimenté par au moins un des signaux produits dont la caractéristique est régie par un circuit de traitement (10), un transducteur (6) pour produire une perturbation affaiblissant le bruit de fond dans la zone du spectre sonore et un dispositif de retard (4) pour décaler les signaux relatifs par rapport au bruit incontrôlé avant, pendant ou après le filtrage adaptatif. Le système trouve une application directe dans les casques d'écoute individuels ou les casques anti-bruit.
