TITLE NOISE REDUCTION IN SIGNAL PROCESSING BY SEQUENCY DIVERSITY INVENTOR Jean-Daniel Aussel ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE To improve the detection of targets in clutter, tech- niques known as frequency diversity or agility have been developed for radar, non-destructive evaluation, digital image processing and medical imaging. These techniques are based on the different statis- tical properties of the target signal and the clutter noise as a function of the frequency. The decomposition of signal over such orthogonal functions as Walsh and Haar functions has led to sequency analysis. According to the present invention, the decomposition of a received signal over a set of signals of different sequency, called sequency diverse components, has shown that the target signal and the clutter noise have different statistical sequency properties. As a result the clutter noise can be reduced by statistical processing of the sequency diverse components.
